Who is CMA ? Chris Mason is the principal of CMA Property, which was launched in February 2007, we are a privately owned and independent Property Advisory and Valuation firm.We offer a range of property services including valuations, general advice and consultancy across most real estate assets throughout metropolitan Melbourne. CMA was established on the basis that many non bank customers were not being provided with a professional and personalised level of service from some of the larger valuation practices.
As experienced by Chris, quite often professional and private client valuation instructions within the larger valuation practices were delegated to junior valuers and slotted into a busy day of high volume mortgage assignments, frustrated by this approach Chris believed the customers deserved more and thus CMA was founded. At CMA only professional and private customer valuations instructions are accepted.We pride ourselves on attention to detail, therefore the most accurate assessments of value can be achieved through comprehensive research, analysis and reporting.
Prior to establishing CMA Property, Chris gained his expertise and specialist valuation skills working for the following professional real estate groups;
Landlink Property Chris was a senior valuer between September 2005 andMarch 2007, acting as the Business Centre Manager, where he to responsibility for running the Melbourne CBD office, where he undertook a variety of valuation assignments of residential dwellings, units, apartments, strata titled retail & commercial properties, strata titled offices, retail properties, managed/student accommodation and serviced apartments.
One of the key roles I have developed is in project feasibility studies and project related valuations for residential and mixed use residential/commercial development sites and multi unit projects to be relied upon by both developers and lenders.
As Business CentreManager for the CBD area I was responsible for managing and overseeing the work prepared for a number of major clients and four staff within the inner city market.
Fitzroys Pty Ltd Chris was a valuer between June 2001 and August 2005, where he became a specialist in the expanding Melbourne and inner city residential apartment market. He regularly undertook valuations of residential dwellings, units, apartments, prestige residential, strata titled retail & commercial properties, strata titled offices and retail properties. Chris achieved employee of the year in hist first year with the firm and was named an associate in his second year.
Knight Frank Chris was a valuer with the Knight Frank Real Estate in their Cairns (FNQ) office between August 2000 andMay 2001. After leaving the government I joined Knight Frank Cairns where I prepared valuations primarily for Westpac Bank for lending purposes throughout the Cairns, Cairns Northern Beaches and Port Douglas markets. Due to the nature of the market I gained a great deal of experience in valuing residential units, unit developments and residential redevelopment properties in addition to a broad variety of single residential dwellings.
Department of Natural Resources Queensland (Queensland Valuer General) Chris commenced his formal valuation career at the Department of Natural Resources in their Cairns office between August 1998 and August 2000. During his time in Cairns, he was responsible valuer for the Cairns south area, preparing government unimproved value assessments for the Cairns revaluation of 1999 and subsequent market analysis and rating and taxing reports.
Chris holds a Bachelor of Business majoring in Property from RMIT, and has over 15 years practical experience in the property industry, a love of all things "property" doesn't hurt either. |
